四川生物技术药物起步较早，在西南各省之中位居前列。生物城以血液制品、抗体药物、疫苗、细胞治疗、基因药物为突破点，做大做强。早在2013年，科伦药业就建成输液领域唯一的国家工程技术研究中心。2018年，国际靶标与药物发现学会入驻生物城。随后，诺贝尔化学奖得主罗杰·科恩伯格、世界500强赛诺菲、“百年壹号研究院”接踵而至。龙头项目带动，大企业均深度布局，中小企业创新活跃，一路走来，生物城生物技术药物领域能级稳步提升。

Sichuan’s biotech drugs started early, ranking at the top in southwest China. The bio-tow n is grow ing and expanding in f ive areas, i.e. blood products, antibody drugs, vaccine, cell therapy and gene medicine. In 2013, Kelun Pharmaceutical built the only national engineering research center in the f ield of infusion. In 2018, the International Society for Target and Drug Discovery（ISTDD） was inaugurated in the bio-town. Subsequently, Roger D.Kornberg, a Nobel laureate in chem istry, Sanof i, a Fortune 500 company, and Century One Institute, among others, landed here. The biotech drug segment at the bio-town has been steadily improving its capacity led by top projects, leading big companies, and innovative and active SMEs.

The Tianfu International Bio-town, backed by the State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, has partnered w ith Chengdu H igh-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Shanghai Pharmaceuticals (SPH) and Wesker in building the Tianfu Vaccine Valley, in a bid to shape a whole-chain vaccine industry.
