四、形容词等级的构成
（一）规则变化：
1.多数单音节形容词和部分双音节词加后缀er构成比较级，加est构成最高级，tall—taller—tallest.
2.以e结尾，+r，+st.nice－nicer－nicest.
3.重读闭音节，双写最后一个辅音字母，再加er，est.big－bigger－biggest.
4.辅音字母+y结尾的，先把y变i，再加er，est.happy－happier－happiest.

（一）原级：
1.肯定：as+原级+as.Lily is as careful as Lucy.
2.否定：not as+原级+as.Tom isn’t as（so）careful as Kate.
（二）比较级：
1.比较级+than表示“比……更……”
He is younger than his classmate.
2.比较级+and+比较级。表示“越来越…”
It’s getting hotter and hotter.
3.The+比较级，the+比较级，表示“越…就越…”
4.Themore we get together，the happier we’ll be.
The+比较级+of the two表示“两者中较……的一个”
She is the quieter of the two.
注意：形容词比较级经常可以用“much，even，a lot”等用来修饰，表示加强语气。

（三）最高级：
1.the+最高级+范围（of或者in短语）.
She is the cleverer of the three.
Tom is the tallest in our class.
2.one of+the+最高级+名词（复数）.
His brother is one of themost popular in his school.
